Typologically, Levi paid tithes through Abraham. As Levi and all Israel were corporately in Abraham, so all of humanity was corporately in Christ when He died on the cross. Corporately in Christ, then, humanity has paid the wages of sin just as Levi paid tithe through Abraham. So what is my contribution? Nothing. All I can do is accept His gift and die to self. If I dwell on my failures and defects of character, I could become discouraged. But in Christ I am perfect, absolutely immaculate.
