The ultimate purpose of this book is to give sincere Bible students a solid, foundational footing in the core principles of God’s Word in order to guide them through the important decisions of life. This covers every facet of life from marriage to raising children, the parables, spirituality and evangelism among many other subjects. It is an excellent compilation of Biblical truths that have been carefully and thoughtfully collated to educate believers on how to live a true Biblical Christian life.
In addition, the lessons contained in this book provide a pivotal foundation for prophecy. We have now reached a critical point in earth’s history where the apocalyptic events foretold in Daniel and the Revelation are fast reaching their climax. Prophetically speaking, this is a time unsurpassed by any other. The prophets and patriarchs of old longed to see this day – they longed to live and be a part of this last generation who would see Christ come again in victory. Inconceivable as it may seem; and unworthy as we are, the greatest privilege of all time has been allotted to us. God timed your birth dear reader, so that you would be among the generation “that would not pass” till this momentous event occurs. Therefore study God’s prophetic word as though its principles of life were written now for you alone.
But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear. For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them. Matthew 13:16- 17
The Protestant Reformation of the early 1500’s was pivotal in developing truth and reviving some of the foundational platforms of the Christian faith as taught and practised by the early Disciples. But had the great reformers not lived during the Dark Ages and witnessed first-hand the suppression of the truth and the persecution that came along with boldly proclaiming it, they would not have been able to identify the Anti-Christ power of their time. For ironically, it was the preaching of the Gospel itself which ultimately caused the Reformers to be cast out of the mother church they loved so dearly; and which effectually exposed and coerced out the beastly qualities of the Papacy all the more.
When Luther, Zwingli and others discovered the truth illuminating from God’s Holy Word – that God’s Word is sovereign and immutable above any man-made tradition, religion or church authority – nothing could restrain these heroic super-troopers from proclaiming it. Boldly shouting from the rooftops Jesus Christ is our righteousness – and salvation cannot be earned through our own efforts apart from Him, these reformers would rather face death than yield to a religious creed conjured up by the popes, to beat the masses into subjection and fill their coffers. Nevertheless, let us never forget that the greatest reformers of all time were all initially Catholic and that had the mother church been more tolerant of their views, we would not have Protestant Christianity as we know it today.
God has designed it so that the light of His Word will ever increase in each successive generation. The light of His Word is not to remain stagnant, nor is it to be suppressed by belief in any religious system [of any kind] over the Word of God itself. We are not to cling to past prophecy to the neglect of deciphering new prophecy in our time. For since the pinnacle of the Protestant
Reformation much greater light has unfolded and will continue to do so until Christ’s return. Christ commissions us to take up this work of looking and watching for the prophetic waymarks to keep our minds focused on and preoccupied with Him till He comes. This work is given to us – not for Christ’s benefit, but for ours.
According to the Scriptures dear reader, there are prophecies that can only be unlocked and understood by you who are now living in this time. Often it is not until just before or after a prophetic sign has taken place that the fulfilment of a Bible prophecy is properly understood or decoded for what it actually is. Diligent Bible students will therefore be ever watchful for the signs of ‘their’ times! They will cherish the prophecies they have stored up in their heart and marry them up to the waymarks when they pass. Never will they again recant in the face of Papal complacency and stagnation from the dark recesses of the past – past prophecies, past prophets and old teachings – to the neglect of anything new. On the contrary, they will run with the new light and proudly bear the label heretic even in this modern age, for the sake of truth.
Of course the prophecies of yesteryear are important, valuable waymarks from which we are to establish our basic understanding of prophecy, in order to then branch out. But they are not to be the end of it – for then that would be the end of us. Therefore dear reader, please do benefit from these great prophetic writings summarized in the lessons contained in this book; then take those very same principles the pioneers employed to step out and advance truth for yourself.
We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: 2 Peter 1:19
Aside from prophecy, this book reveals in a most beautiful and profound way the Righteousness of Christ. His Spirit once received and embraced wholeheartedly into the life will undoubtedly bear the divine impress of Christ’s beautiful, righteous character on our own. For the grace of God does not supplant the need for striving to higher, holy attainment and righteous works, but is rather the impetus for it. The grace of God operating in the soul spurs us on to greater heights – divine gifting and operations that surpass our wildest expectations. Within every individual God has placed unique gifts and talents, which, when cultivated through His divine, fatherly, guiding hand, lead to the most magnificent outcomes. This is the miracle of God and man coming together into union through Jesus Christ: beautiful, holy lives full of the righteous works of God are the inevitable product. The Apostle Paul called it the mystery of Godliness – the mystery of Christ living in me, the hope of glory. Colossians 1:27
In closing, this book is divided into sixteen units; these are not of equal length. There are one hundred and twenty-two lessons; neither are they of equal length. The lessons are set up in such a way as to be easily studied and understood. This book is put in your hands with the sincere prayer that it will help you and anyone searching for truth.
