How can we show Hope, Faith, and Love to others? Can we automatically get eternal life once we have these things? Watch Walter Veith explore the parable of the Good Samaritan, linking it to our current struggles with loving our neighbour as ourselves.
We have Hope, Faith, and Love. Without these three things, are we able to please God? God gives us the tools of Hope, Faith, and Love in order to strengthen us in our daily trials. As Adventists, is Hope the greatest of the three? Without hoping for the second-coming of Christ, what is left to hope for? Will we still need Hope and Faith when Christ has come once again?
If we can achieve Hope, Faith, and Love, do we automatically get eternal life? In the Bible, a lawyer questions Jesus, “what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” Jesus’ answer is a challenge. Loving your neighbour as yourself may be one of the hardest commandments to obey. Veith reminds us Jesus’s clever answer in the form of a parable. How can we see lessons of Hope, Faith, and Love within the parable of the Good Samaritan? Can we show Love in the same way? Can we take it one step further and show others our Faith by following each of God’s challenges? It can be hard to love our neighbours as ourselves, but through this parable we are given great examples of how to obey God.
